TRAVEL LOG – Thailand and Indochina (Entry 03) Arrival London, November the 13th, 2009 That’s where it all starts. We tuck off from Heathrow Airport at 10 AM for a 6 hours flight to Kuwait. There, we waited 5 hours to take off in a 7 hours flight to our final destination: Bangkok. Capital of Thailand, Bangkok is the most perfect personification of an Asian capital. With a population over 6 millions and attracting an average of 11 million per year, this exotic city comes only behind London and Paris when it comes to tourism. With options of accommodation for all budgets, we’ve chosen the cheapest: The Khao San Road area. There are many ways of getting there from Suvarnabbumi International Airport and the cheapest way is the bus.>>>We bought the ticket for the AE2 bus with a cost of 150 Baht (£2.80 /$4.50) per person and it will take us straight to Khao San Road, the backpacking paradise in Bangkok. This is our new “guide”, very busy, Fabio he knows everything and came to save us. He will show us where it is.>>>Ready to go to Khao San? The journey takes an average of 1 hour, depending on the traffic and once your in Khao San Road, you have a myriad of options for accommodation varying from 350 Baht (£6.50 /$10.50) for a double bedroom to 1200 Baht (£22 /$36) depending on how much you want to spend. We went for the cheap one… >>>We are both shattered… Good night, see you in a bit!
