Ahoy maties, this be your first mate Laura with Visit Central Florida. Now we have been invited to go on a sneak peek of LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s newest accommodation, the Pirate Island Hotel. So of course we’re bringing you aboard so that you can step inside this immersive and whimsical new accommodation, that’s only a few steps away from the theme park’s front gate! The next time you visit the theme park built for kids ages 2 – 12, you’ll notice that a band of scallywags have taken up residence right next to the LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s first accommodation the LEGOLAND Hotel. The 150-room hotel will be accessible via a walkway from the pre-existing hotel on-site. Once you pass through the immersive hallway you’ll be welcomed aboard a lively pirate ship with a charming LEGO
flourish. Sling back your grog at Smuggler’s Bar. Here’s where all you adult swashbucklers can unwind after busy day of theme park exploring. Eventually the bar will hold LEGO building areas and nightly entertainment, though during our tour it held a few of the hundreds of LEGO models that will be scattered throughout the hotel. During our preview we were able to sample one of the signature mojitos that will be available for parents. There’ll also be craft beer on tap. A cute play area we noticed was the Pirate Jail. A perfect cave for little pirates to burn off energy. It’s now time to make our way through the corridors and up the elevator. When it’s time for bed, the Pirate Island Hotel has 150 LEGO-filled rooms, including four suites. Similar to the original LEGOLAND Hotel next door, each guest room has an in-room LEGO treasure hunt and two separate sleeping
quarters. The kids can enjoy bunk beds and a pull-out trundle, plus a television and play area. Pirate Island Hotel rooms sleep five, but guests can also upgrade to a suite, which will sleep seven. Guests can choose between a standard room view, which is of a LEGOLAND Hotel or the theme park. Or they can enjoy a lake view room, which has gorgeous views of Lake Eloise. And check out these guys who will be decorating each room! Feast like a pirate at Shipwreck Restaurant, where they will offer family-style dining. Complimentary family-style breakfast at Shipwreck Restaurant will be included with each overnight stay, plus guests staying at the Beach Retreat and the LEGOLAND Hotel can also enjoy dining here. One of the most exciting things about our preview was being able to sample the food that will be offered at Shipwreck Restaurant. This was my favorite thing, though! The warm, delicious chocolate chip cookie was topped with caramel and chocolate sauce, and delicious vanilla bean ice cream, On the top, those are Heath candy crumbles! Like all the other LEGOLAND accommodations, the Pirate Island Hotel will also have a heated swimming pool. What else can you expect to find at the Pirate Island Hotel? There’ll be LEGO models, exclusive character encounters, nightly children’s entertainment and master builder workshops — all included with your stay! You can also add-on lake boat rides and rounds of golf on the miniature golf course. So don’t be a landlubber! Weigh anchor and make your reservations for LEGOLAND Pirate Island Hotel, which opens April 17, 2020.
