Our adult learners and veterans have different
experiences than our traditional students. When they can connect with other veterans
or adult learners, it builds camaraderie and a sense of belonging. Our veterans and adult learners, in addition
to being either a first generation student or one returning to finish their degree, they
tend to work full time and have additional responsibilities such as a mortgage, a spouse, children. Having a space where they can meet and connect
with other adult learner and veterans who share these similar experiences, it builds
their connectedness to the campus and hopefully they become engaged in student life. And when students are engaged with the campus,
they tend to do better academically than those who aren’t. I truly believe that having this space will
encourage that involvement. [Music]
