Heathrow Terminal 3 has one world
lounges for American, British Airways, Qantas and Cathay Pacific. Qantas and
Cathay have been renovated in the last few years so relatively new. The Cathay lounge is located in Zone C after security. It is up a level so you will need to take
a lift. Open from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily except on Sundays when it opens
at 7:30 a.m. All one world-first or business class passengers along with
gold silver emerald and sapphire card holders can use the lounge. Business and
first-class is separated in different areas. The first-class lounge is not huge
but adequate and intimate for the number of passengers that travel through. There are a few seating areas with floor-to-ceiling windows offering great
views of the airport traffic. You may notice that there are some styling
similarities to the Hong Kong, Pier first-class lounge. Tthe corner seat is known as the “throne”
and a prized position for regular travelers. The dining room offers seating
for about a dozen or so people providing a civilized table service. We visited during the breakfast sitting
and found an excellent choice of freshly prepared food and a selection of drinks.
You can’t beat a mimosa first thing in the morning. I chose the western set
which is essentially an English breakfast. Will was more adventurous and
chose the Chinese set, consisting of pork and sweet corn congee, dim sum basket and fried vegetable noodles. The quality was absolutely excellent! If you don’t fancy a full meal the
pantry provides a selection of beautifully presented snacks with cold meats and cheese cereals and warm pastries along with
self-service coffee. A well stopped self-service bar entices
you with high quality champagnes, beers wine and spirits. You can also ask a
server for a cocktail from a small menu. Down a shared corridor you will find the
toilets and the shower facilities, sadly they were all busy at the time so I’m
not able to share that with you. It’s an excellent lounge to quietly relax before you head to your flight. Please use the comment section below to add any
